eDistrict UP Certificate Download
— How to Download Your Certificate (2026)
How to download your digitally signed certificate from the eSathi portal or DigiLocker — QR code verification, step-by-step process, and solutions to every common problem in one place.
Quick Answer
From eSathi: esathi.up.gov.in → Log in → Dashboard → Find your application → Status should be "Certificate Issued" → Click Download → Save the PDF
From DigiLocker: digilocker.gov.in → Log in → Issued Documents → Select certificate type → Download
Status not showing "Certificate Issued"? The certificate isn't ready yet. Check the application status page to see where your application stands.
Download not working? Clear your browser cache, use Chrome, and turn off ad-blockers.
Before You Download — Check the Status
A certificate can only be downloaded once the Tehsildar or SDM has approved the application and the system has generated the digitally signed document. This shows up in application status as "Certificate Generated".
If you see any other status — "Forwarded," "Under Verification," "Forwarded to Tehsildar," or "Approved" — the certificate isn't ready for download yet. "Approved" and "Certificate Issued" are separate stages: Approved means the Tehsildar has signed off, but the system still takes 24–48 hours to generate the signed PDF.
Tip: Don't attempt to download before this status appears. First check the status using your SRN at edistrict.up.gov.in.
How to Download from eSathi — Step by Step
Open esathi.up.gov.in and log in with your login ID and password.
On the dashboard, find the application you want to download. All applications appear on the dashboard with their SRN, certificate type, date, and status.
Confirm that the status shows "Certificate Issued" (Certificate Generated). If it does, a download link/button will appear next to the application.
Click the Download link. The certificate opens in the browser as a PDF or the download starts automatically.
Save the PDF to your device. Desktop: right-click → "Save As" or Ctrl+S. Mobile: your browser's download manager saves it to the Downloads folder.
Open the saved PDF and check that every detail is correct — name spelling, father's name, address, certificate type, issue date, and the Tehsildar/SDM's digital signature at the bottom.
The downloaded file is a digitally signed PDF that carries the Certificate Number, a QR code for verification, and the issuing officer's DSC. This is your official certificate — there is no separate physical version. Print it whenever you need to.
How to Download from DigiLocker
Certificates issued by eDistrict UP are linked to DigiLocker. If your DigiLocker account is linked to the same Aadhaar used for eSathi registration, approved certificates appear in DigiLocker automatically.
Open digilocker.gov.in or the DigiLocker app.
Log in with your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and OTP.
Go to the "Issued Documents" section.
Find the certificate under the issuing department.
Click to view and download it.
Why Use DigiLocker?
Many institutions — universities, passport offices, government departments — accept DigiLocker documents directly without a physical copy. Especially useful for NEET/JEE counselling, passports, and government job document verification.
Note: Not all certificates appear in DigiLocker instantly. It can take a few days to sync after being generated on eSathi. Until then, download it directly from eSathi.
What You Get — Certificate Format
The downloaded PDF includes:
Certificate Number
A unique ID, separate from the SRN. Third parties (universities, employers, courts) use it for verification.
QR Code
Scan it with any phone camera. It opens the verification page directly.
Digital Signature
The Tehsildar or SDM's DSC. Under Section 5 of the IT Act, 2000, it carries the same legal validity as a physical signature and government seal.
Applicant Details
Name, father's name, address, date of birth, and certificate-specific information (income amount, caste name, residency status, birth/death details).
This PDF is your official certificate. There is no separate physical certificate — the digital version is the primary document. Print it on any printer — printed copies carry the same legal validity because the QR code and Certificate Number remain verifiable regardless of format.
Download Problems — Solutions
1"Certificate Issued" shows but there's no download link
Refresh the page. If it still doesn't appear, log out completely, clear the browser cache, and log in again.
2Nothing happens when you click Download
Switch to Chrome, turn off your ad-blocker, clear the browser cache, and try an incognito window (Ctrl+Shift+N). On mobile, try "Desktop site" mode.
3PDF opens but shows blank or an error
The PDF didn't download completely. Delete it and download again on a stable internet connection.
4"Session expired"
The portal expires the session after 15–20 minutes of inactivity. Log in again and go straight to download.
5I applied through a CSC — how do I download it myself?
Create an eSathi account (free). Certificates are accessible through your Aadhaar-linked profile. Alternatively: go back to the CSC and have the operator download it, or access it via DigiLocker.
After You Download — What to Do
Frequently Asked Questions
Status shows "Approved" but download isn't working?
"Approved" and "Certificate Issued" are different stages. After approval, it can take 24–48 hours for the system to generate the signed PDF. Wait until "Certificate Issued" appears.
Can I download on mobile?
Yes. eSathi works on mobile browsers. Chrome works best. The PDF saves to the phone's Downloads folder.
Is the PDF legally valid without printing?
Yes. Under the IT Act, 2000, a digitally signed PDF is the primary legal document. Printed copies carry the same validity — the QR code and Certificate Number remain verifiable. No additional attestation or notarisation is required.
I applied through a CSC — can I download it myself?
Yes, if you have an eSathi account. Create one for free — it's accessible via your Aadhaar-linked profile. Or use DigiLocker. Or go back to the CSC.
The name on my certificate is wrong — can the PDF be edited?
No. Editing the PDF breaks the digital signature and invalidates the certificate. Submit a fresh application with the correct information.
How many times can I download it?
Unlimited. The certificate stays permanently in your eSathi dashboard. Download it as many times as you need.
The certificate isn't showing up in DigiLocker?
DigiLocker sync can take a few days. Until then, download it directly from eSathi. If it still doesn't appear after a week, check that DigiLocker has the same Aadhaar as eSathi.
Can someone else download my certificate?
Only the person who can log in to the eSathi account. Login ID and password are required. Never share your credentials.
